About Lyndsey Young

Lyndsey Young | MA, LMHC

Counseling for Adults and Teens (Age 13+)

Lyndsey meets clients at the place where growth and change happens. She believes therapy should be empowering, positive, and uplifting. Therapy offers a non-judgmental space for you to learn more about yourself and the issues that are troubling to you. Central to her practice is a supportive and trusting relationship in which you can feel valued, respected, and encouraged.

Clients with a depressed mood, unsettling anxiety, or those suffering with low self-esteem will find Lyndsey understanding, validating, and practical.  Lyndsey specializes in treating mood fluctuations, including depression and bipolar disorder.

Many people who come to see her also struggle with work, school, or family stress. She is experienced with helping clients heal from grief or loss, trauma experiences, and conflict in relationships. She loves to work with all ages (13 +), and recognizes developmental stages are an important factor in overall awareness and perspective.

Lyndsey combines supportive therapy with evidence-based practices like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). It’s a cooperative and adaptive approach to ensure each person gets what they need for their own individual process, including practical coping tools for change. Lyndsey strives to create a space where people feel safe to be challenged, achieve their identified goals, and change negative thoughts and behaviors.

She is a native to the Northwest and in her free time enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, Angus and Little Dude. In addition to working with clients at Star Meadow, Lyndsey works on-call for the emergency department at Peace Health Southwest providing emergency psychiatric services.
