Star Meadow Counseling is proud to help sponsor the 2017 Out of Darkness Community Walk. We have seen the impact that suicide can have on friends and family and are committed to spreading a message of hope to those that are suffering.
Every 40 seconds someone in the world dies by suicide. There are approximately one million suicide attempts in the US alone each year.
On Saturday, October 7, 2017, we will be walking in Portland, Oregon for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of Darkness Walk to help change these statistics. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention aims to reduce the US rate by 20% by 2025.
You can join hundreds of thousands of participants across the country in moving toward change. Registration for the walk is free. Click here to make a donation.
If you or a loved one has been impacted by suicide, help is available. The local Clark County Crisis line is available 24/7 and a qualified mental health professional is standing by ready to help: 360-696-9560. A nation-wide hotline you can reach is 1-800-273-TALK.
