Kayla prioritizes compassion, humor, and warmth in her work with clients. She believes each of us have an important story to tell and works to create an empathic and safe pace for clients to begin the journey inward. Her favorite part about being a therapist is accompanying her clients as they realize their inherent value.
Kayla loves working with individual clients as they navigate post-traumatic stress. She takes a trauma-sensitive approach to her work and is well-versed helping clients regulate emotion, attune to their own needs, and build an understanding into the relationship between one’s own history and present-day functioning. She understands the importance of the relationships we have with ourselves and the power of an internal secure attachment. In addition to her work with trauma, Kayla enjoys working with clients on healing their relationships with body and body image, navigating anxiety, and difficulties with codependent attachment patterns.
No matter your story, Kayla believes in the power of the human spirit and our abilities to overcome hardship, make meaning, and feel safe in the world.
Outside of her role as a therapist, Kayla enjoys creative endeavors such as painting, interior decorating, and landscaping. When she isn’t in the office you can catch her enjoying the natural world via birding, hiking, and hanging in the hammock.
