About Leah Hutchinson Sanchez

Leah Hutchinson Sanchez | MA, LMHC

LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR ASSOCIATE

Counseling for Adults and Teens (Age 16+)

Leah Counselor

Leah believes that each client is the expert of their own life, and approaches counseling with a collaborative and non-pathologizing lens. She brings warmth and curiosity through a relational lens to help clients feel seen and heard, embracing their strengths to support clients reaching goals that are meaningful to them.

Passionate about queer liberation, fat liberation, disability justice, and supporting the COVID-conscious community, Leah creates a safe and understanding environment where clients are empowered to process their experiences and develop strategies to navigate life’s complexities with greater ease and confidence. She is intentional about social justice, anti-racism and multiculturalism in counseling, weaving in client’s intersecting cultural and social identities to provide inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care. She recognizes the importance of drawing in social and political systems to understand the intersections and nuances of a client’s lived experience. Her work is strongly rooted in a neurodiversity-affirming approach as well as an anti-capitalist framework.

Her therapeutic philosophy favors humanistic and client-centered approaches. Leah knows each client brings in their own unique experience and draws from multiple approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Experiential Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Health at Every Size (HAES), and various somatic, mindfulness, and creative techniques. She loves collaborating with clients to provide personalized care tailored to individual needs and goals.

Outside of counseling, she enjoys going on scenic drives with her partner (with an incredible playlist, of course), playing with the neighborhood cats, and loves creative writing.
